Shumi to goto Renault?
Strange news out of Germany today. Willi Weber has said in Bild Newspaper that Flavio Briatore has approached him looking to sign the mighty German for the 2007 season.
Weber said "I told Flavio clearly that we are not talking to anyone until Michael decides whether he wants to, We've known each other for a long time and talk a lot to each other," he said of Briatore. "Flavio let on that we should talk to him before we sign another possible contract with Ferrari. He seems to be interested."
As they should be, they will be losing he current World champion and championship leader to Mclaren and have no real successor to his mantle. Yes Fisi is a good driver on his day, but certainly no team leader.
It would however be very strange to see Michael leave the Prancing Horse this late in his career. He would be better off taking a none driver role high up at Ferrari as he has earned it. Only time will tell if he is ready for a new challenge.
