Rumor has it that the Island State of Singapore will be included in the 2008 F1 calendar, there is also talks that this will be F1’s first night race.

I’m all for new tracks, this one is believed to be a street race in the downtown area. That’s fine, but no more Herbert Tilke tracks please, there getting a little boring now.

The dates banded about are April and August, with the April dates being more likely. It’s also possible that it could be a shared race with Japan and or Malaysia, that would make sense as we could have Suzuka back.

A night race would be nice, but it’s not going to be a real night race as the lighting would have to be very bright just to make the race safe.

Either way it’s nice to see F1 expanding around the globe. Let’s hope it’s not at the expense of some of the ‘must appear’ races like Great Britain, France, Spa and the likes.
