A strange and possibly controversial qualifying session.

The main news is going to be the frucass that may come up inside the McLaren camp. In the last few minutes of qualifying Fernando waited in the pits while Lewis was waiting to stop, this caused Lewis to not make it round before the checkered flag, and hence Fernando got his last qualifying lap in and Lewis did not. The Stewards are apparently looking into the matter, and even if they deem that nothing wrong has been done, I cannot imagine Ron Dennis being too happy.

Even more controversy to add to McLaren, and with the Ferrari case not looking like ending soon, that’s a lot of issues in the McLaren camp.

Nick Heidfeld out qualified the Ferrari’s and put his BMW on 3rd spot, Kimi got the scarlet car into fourth. The other big piece of news was the second Ferrari, Massa was knocked out in the second qualifying session, he stopped in the pit lane, was pushed back to the pit box, and then struggled with what looked like massive under steer all the way around the track.

Other news was the speed of the 2nd string Honda’s, Anthony Davidson made it into the second Qualifying session quite easily, showing that the Honda main team is certainly struggling.
