I’ve had a fair few mails and comments about my comments over the McLaren / Ferrari debacle.
Where I sit is this. McLaren have done wrong, I am not denying that, I am British so feel hard done by because of it. However I feel the FIA have let Ferrari get there own way, Why?
I say this because it was a Ferrari engineer who stole the documents in the first place, if that had not occurred then this whole issue would not have arisen. McLaren have done wrong to some extent, however most of the information that the team are blamed for using is pit lane common knowledge to some extent anyhow. So too have Ferrari done wrong, so why have they not been penalised as well for letting the information leave the Italian teams base.
I think this will go a little further, but for now we have a great drivers championship going on, so let’s focus on that.

right lets get realistic,why were ferrari not penalised?the answer lies within confines of the governing body, if ferrari told them to ban a team because this team were winning, the gov. bods. probably would! ferrari has the impression that it is bigger than anything else in motor sport, and the gutless way the council bow down in the presence of motorsports resident tantrum throwing eyties only makes ferrari’s attitude worse. it is time supporters,sponsors,teams and especially the sports governing body say NO you can not have it all your own way. i admit wrong has been done, but not just by mclaren.ferrari must take responsibility for not ensuring team security especially where a person is on his/her way out of the organisation, for years i have had arguments with friends who class themselves as ‘tifosi’ about ferrari being motorsport mafiosi this debacle just serves to prove my point. i have already persuaded three friends that thier support would be better directed elsewhere, maybe a more patriotic foundation perhaps. hang in there mclaren, next season is going to be yours! p.s get rid of alonso, if it aint going his way, he will do all to disturb harmony and spread discord and ill-will, particularly if he is not top dog
