Great idea this site, it is needed, so lets see how it goes. Does anyone have the true answer to where the Renaults are getting their incredible chassis advantage? They can turn and grip like nobody else, very little indication of excessive under or oversteer , all theory seems to have gone out the window for roll centres balance etc the aeros are unique - is this the only reason. a commentator at Silverstone mentioned the sweet spot in setup , well we all pursue that and usually come close but the Renaults is on another level. The onboards at Silverstone showed the amount of flat or near flat corners followed by a few quick changes and off to the next corner whereas the Ferrari was so traditional and slower . I think one of the speed traps on turn 9(?) showed a differential of 15 kph !!!! We all know that Alonso is a great driver and the Renaults dominance is the sum of numerous factors but this question is pure chassis

Here goes. Renault is using a centrifical counter-surge energry module in three areas of their wheel-barking and rear-end design. Unfortunately, FIA and the Mosley Monster have no current method to identify it, capture it, understand it, and prohibit it. There was another team doing this, but since they are under the magnifying glass regarding car design this year, Team X has decided to minimize any additional risk of penalty, they have taken it off their cars.
