Roundup
Ok, so I have to apologise for not posting for a while, but this is the silly season, and I have been caught up in family and work.
That said, it’s also been a good off season so far for F1 news, so with that in mind, lets break it all down, let’s start with the Driver announcements.
The younger Schumacher has left the Toyota team, and even though he played with the idea of driving for Team India by taking part in a test, it seems that he was not offered the job.
Ralf is one of those drivers that initially shone, and I have no doubt that if he was in a competitive car could be quick. However he has not got his brothers talent of setup, and overcoming the car’s deficiencies, and because of that cost Toyota not only a lot of money, but also a lot of time.
I’m sure with Timo Glock and Jarno in the driving seats the team has a good base to build a car for the future.

Giancarlo Fisichella to stay at Renault
Renault have announced that Giancarlo Fisichella will remain at the F1 team for 2007 at least.
The Official Announcement is over at the Renault site, and does not really include an awful amount of information, but the rumour is that it is just a 1 year extension to his current contract.
Flavio Briatore commented: “We are extremely pleased to continue working with Giancarlo next year. He was an integral part of our championship success last year; he has upped his game significantly for 2006, making the team even stronger; we believe he can do it again for 2007. It is important for Renault to maintain continuity as we move into next year, and Giancarlo’s integration with the team is now perfect. What’s more, his experience with the team over two championship campaigns will be an invaluable asset. We will have ambitious targets for next season, and Giancarlo is capable of achieving them.”

Fisi penalised
Giancarlo Fisichella has been penalised his fastest 3 laps for holding David Coulthard up during Qualifying.
This will drop him to provisional 10th place on the grid in a move that matches the one that JV had a few weeks back at Nurburgring for holding Fisi up in Q2.
The final grid order is still to be settled by the stewards after the investigation into Schumi's 'stalling' at the end of Q3.
