Kimi to start from 16th
Kimi will start the first race of his 2008 season from the 16th spot as his car stopped out on track during the end of the Q1 session at Melbourne.
It seems that his fuel pressure regulator has given up on him (the team suffered the same issue Friday). So the team that had one of the best reliability in the winter test season is the first to fall to reliability.
It will be interesting to see him make his way through the field in the race, as I would tip him for a podium.

Bahrain last day
Today was the last day of testing at Bahrain, and the last official day of testing for the teams before the opening race in Australia.
Massa was once again the fastest man on the track, he lapped in an incredible 1m29.989s to set the fastest time all week with the new aero package on the car.
Renault had a bit of a hit and miss day. Heikki showed that the team have certainly started to find pace in the car by lapping the second fastest time with a 1m30.384s and Fisi doing a 1m30.498s. That however was not the whole story as both cars had failures that caused less track time than the team were hoping for.
Kimi was running the revised aero package from Massa’s car in the afternoon and managed to get himself into fourth spot.
The McLaren cars both seemed a little off the pace of previous days, Alonso managed fifth and de la Rossa managed seventh.

Heikki makes the big time
Heikki Kovalainen has been announced as the second driver alongside Giancarlo Fisichella at Renault next year.
The other news from the Renault team is that Flavio Briatore will also stay on as team boss.
Heikki is the second of the 'young guns' to come up from the GP2 series to F1, with Nico Rosberg being the first to make the leap.
The only team's that now need announce their 2007 line-up is the Ferrari and McLaren teams. The thought's and rumor is that Schumacher is to retire at the end of this season. This would make sense as it was believed that Kimi had a contract with both Renault and Ferrari with a clause in the Renault contract that allowed him to void it if the Ferrari drive came up. And with Renault now announcing their drivers, it looks like Kimi will be Ferrari bound to race alongside Filipe Massa.

Drivers Merry-Go-Round
It's that time of the year again, most of the contracts that expire this year are coming up to needing renewing on the 31'st of July.
The current state of affairs largely relies on what Michael Schumacher does at Ferrari.
What we do know is this :-
Toyota : Ralf is contracted till the end of 2007, and Jarno is said to be close to a 3 year deal
Honda : Both Jenson and Rubens are contracted
Williams : There was talk at one point of Rosberg going to Toyota, but now that Jarno is close to a deal it seems that both drivers will stay where they are, Webber is know to be saying as Briatore said "He'll stay at Williams on the conditions set by us"
