Canada Qualifying
Lewis Hamilton has taken his second pole position in Canada with a simply stunning lap at the end of Qualifying 3.
Lewis set a laptime 6 tenths of a second faster than Robert Kubica in the BMW-Sauber, and nearly a second faster than Kimi in the Ferrari.
Fernando Alonso had a good set of laps in the Renault to take a spot on the second row of the grid, and Felipe and Heikki are sat on the third row.
Rubens Barrichello got the Honda into the Q3 session, with Button’s car failing with a third gear issue in Q1.
Mark Webber had a good Q2, but was trying to better his time at the end of the session, unfortunately the track surface was starting to break up at the hairpin, and on the exit of turn 7, this caught him out and he bumped the nose into barrier, ending his qualifying session. He starts in tenth position as he could not participate in Q3

Turkey Qualifying
For the third year in a row, Felipe Massa has popped his Ferrari onto the pole slot. He has won from first on the grid for the last two years, so looking good for the Brazilian in tomorrows race.
Heikki made a great comeback from his smash in Spain to take the second spot on the grid. Lewis took the third spot on the grid with a great lap using the hard compound tyres on his fast run, making the pace of the McLaren look good, if not quite the match of the Ferrari.
Fourth spot went to Kimi, with a Ferrari that was certainly looking a handful, especially towards the end of the lap, so the Finn may well be running a heavier car.
The BMW Sauber’s did not look as quick as they have in the previous races, with Robert Kubica taking fifth and Nick Heidfeld struggling back in ninth.
The Red Bull’s and Renault’s are showing that their pace in Spain was real, with Webber in sixth, and Fernando in seventh.

Malaysia Race Report
Without doubt the Ferrari’s where the cars to beat this time out, however Massa managed to throw his car off the road and into the gravel to end his race. Kimi however kept his head, and finished the race on the top step of the podium.
Lewis had an on/off race, at points showing great pace, but his luck was not good, as he had issues when the tyres were graining, and had a right front wheel stick at his first stop, which culminated in his wheel deflector on that wheel not being fitted properly for the whole of his second stint. He managed to finish in fifth in the end.
It was a good battle in the final stages of the race between Hamilton and Jarno Trulli who finished a deserved fourth in the Toyota, showing that the Japanese team have real pace in the car.
Heikki raced a mature race, moving up the field and finishing third. Kubbica raced well too, to take the second spot, however there was not much footage of him through the race as he was on his own.

Session one
The first session from Australia has just come to a close, and interesting it was.
The times do not really indicate on the first session, as the fastest driver is 2 seconds shy of the 2004 lap record and a second off Kimi’s qualifying time from last year. No the interest comes from watching what the drivers and teams got up to and struggled with.
Almost all the drivers had moments during the session, even the big guns got the cars out of line, and had big moments over the grass, or on entry to fast corners.
Also we saw the first Red Bull failure, David Coulthard’s car caught fire, and had to be limped back to the pits for it to be put out.
Nick Heidfelds BMW suffered a failure as well on the track, and forced him to make his own way back to the pits.
The two Williams cars only ran 3 laps each and were the last two cars on the timesheets with Niko not even classifying as setting a time, the Super Aguri cars did not do much better with only 7 under their belts sitting 19th and 20th.
Webber ran a decent time to make him 5th fastest 1.8 seconds behind Kimi, Lewis, Filipe and Heikki. (all within a second of each other)
Alonso was only just behind Webber, followed closely by Rober Kubica and Timo Glock, Sebastian Vettel and Jarno Trulli.
Jenson managed to drop in just behind Trulli with a time 2.6 seconds off the front runner, with Giancarlo just behind him in the Force India.
